Front and back Apartment is a project designed by h2o architectes in 2008, covers a area of 60 m2 and is located in Paris.

The project consisted in converting an ancient and spatially tight apartment into a serene, spacious and exciting home for a young Parisian cartoon-book collector by using ingenious in-built furniture.
The existing apartment was indeed divided in no less than six rooms for a surface of only 60 sq. meters. The 5 square meter entrance alone counted seven different doors. Our project offers a large open and continuous space which is more or less complex or dense according to uses and orientation.
These variations are defined by furniture with varying geometry. Different functional “niches” come and help shape the space. Their size and color vary depending on the function of the room they serve. They are used as shelving for the very important collection of cartoon-books but they also define the space of the counter, the bathroom, the dressing-room etc. The reverse side of the furniture is also functional (storage, desk, video, more shelves, etc.) The apartment suddenly benefits from new spatial possibilities.

10 Industrial Lamps And Lights For Modern Homes

Industrial style is very trendy for décor now, and I’m speaking not only about men’s caves but also about lofts and other interiors. Touches of this style add texture, interest and create accents, even if the overall style isn’t industrial. A nice way to add such vibes to your rooms is to buy an industrial lamp, chandelier or lights, and today I’d like to share some of such lamps with you.

Designed by French architect Dominique Perrault In The Tube lamp is a way of bringing the architectural into the domestic. The concept was based on different objectives that include it being original, almost indescribable, nearly unbreakable, timeless and completely durable. The lamp comes in several lengths, diameters, and colors, and it is made of borosilicate glass and closed with aluminum stoppers sealed in silicon.

Industrial facility w152 lamp is an electronic LED lamp that provides intelligent, universal power from three USB outlets, detecting charging requirements and powering them at their fastest rate. Forged and milled from a solid aluminum body, the smart lighting device provides up to 3 amps of power – enough to charge the latest generation of laptops and tablets. It can be supplied either as a freestanding or wall-mountable lamp, or built-in to a surface.

The u33 is actually one single pendant that offers a simple way to combine and assemble with like-units to fulfill a myriad of lighting requirements and to address continuously evolving interior spaces. Three true sides feature what looks like lime green accents but are actually contact points where each light can be pressed together. Its modularity and versatility provides users a level of freedom and customization to create different lighting structures that accommodate their specific spatial and visual requirements.

Designer Ralph Frickel created a series of industrial-style lighting objects that were inspired by shapes that are far from industrial. The Cloche set is a tribute to the famous Parisian cloche hat of the early twentieth century and a nod to the classic lampshades of the 1920s. The lighting objects offer a soft and gentle sparkle to the interior all day long, and by night the illuminated wire rope offers a surprising shadow play to the lighting object’s immediate surroundings.

Satoshi Itasaka of Japanese design studio h220430, has designed a new pendant and table lamp named ‘The Birth’. This chandelier is inspired by the weak electrical current occur from an ovum at the very moment of the fertilization, and it really reminds of an ovum, a real or an artificial one with electrical cords all around.

German industrial designer Cornelius Comanns’s lamp design consists of the stand and a secondary component which holds the bulb. the two parts can be put together as desired. Different archaic animal characters can be created in doing so.

This awesome Sand Bridge lamp by designer Julia Kononenko was inspired by Sand Bridge, the oldest iron bridge in Wroclaw, Poland. The bridge is a beautiful, cantilivered red piece, and so is the lamp, which is constructed of sheet metal and aluminum, in red and white. The design adds a sense of weight and industrial style to any space’s atmosphere, it has beautiful and creative structures.

‘Umleiter’ (meaning ‘diverter’ in German) is a flexible suspension lamp designed by Veronika Gombert that uses a simple mechanism to adjust the direction of its light. The lamp’s cord is channeled through an aluminum rod and is held in place by the sliding friction created by the weight of the hanging hand spun metal lampshade. The lamp can be turned 360° and can therefore be positioned anywhere within the rod’s 1m radius reaching distance.

Helsinki-based design studio Himmee is set to launch the Loop table lamp. The light comes from a band of LEDs placed within the arch of the unit’s circular housing, which is made of aluminum and diffused using opal acrylic. The next proponent of new Nordic, Loop is a clearly stated piece intended to counter the rapid fashions and trends that define modern industrial design.

Iskren Marinov’s Industrial Wall Lamp is one the dudes will love. It has tough handmade aesthetic that’s a perfect fit for your man cave! A vintage-looking brown bottle provides a diffused glow as it hangs from a raw wood wall mount. The design is super-easy to install and can be height adjusted to the user’s liking. Its vibrant red cord contrasts and completes the look with a modern pop of color!

Flora Noir Furniture Collection Of Resin And Real Flora

Moody design and furniture are super trendy and hot now, and if you want something of that kind, we are sharing right one of these today. Designer Marcin Rusak’s series of resin furniture, patterned with leaves and flowers trapped in the surfaces, is right what you need, it’s gorgeous!

There’s a console, a coffee table, a sculpture and a wall that feature leaves of tropical plants frozen in the resin. Rusak’s Flora Noir range also includes screens, lamps and tables made forming blocks of black resin with the flowers encased, but then slicing them up and reassembling the strips to create fragmented patterns.

The designer sources his natural materials from florists, which throw out tons of waste flowers every day, he picks up what they don’t need. Rusak selects the flowers and carefully arranges them inside an empty mold. The translucent resin is then poured into the mold. When the pieces are solidified, the flowers and leaves appear like fossils disappearing into the material. Three types of metal are used to house the resin blocks: aluminum, brass and steel. The first two are simply finished with wax, while the steel is typically coated to prevent rusting.

10 Ways to Fill Empty Corners With Floor Vases

https://interior-designing.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/10-ways-to-fill-empty-corners-with-floor-vases.jpg

Corners are tough spaces. Many times, they are awkwardly placed between doorways or windows, making them impossible to fill with furniture. If they’re too dark or too bright, a plant won’t survive. If they’re too shallow, shelves aren’t an option. You probably have a particular corner in mind right now. The solution to the dilemma is extremely simple. Get yourself a floor vase. They come in many different shapes and sizes so you won’t have any trouble picking one out. Suddenly you have a way to fill that awkward empty corner without breaking a nail. Here are 10 ways to fill empty corners with floor vases.

Houseplants are almost everyone’s solution to an empty space, but when your corner is too dark, you probably won’t get it to survive. However, you can put a large leafy branch in a floor vase and you’ll get the illusion of a tree for as long as the greenery lasts.

Of course you don’t have to have a giant branch to make a giant impact. A smaller leafy branch will do just as well! Choose something with flowers if possible to give your corner a bit of color and cheer. (via SF Girl By Bay)

Is your corner part of your reading nook? Bring in the magic by filling a clear glass floor vase with string lights. Those twinkly lights will help bring some brightness and magic to all your reading hours.

Looking for a solution that’s pretty permanent and effortless? Think rocks. By filling a floor vase with rocks, you’ve already added some texture and interest to your empty corner. Adding branches is a bonus. (via Bareo and Isyss)

Who can say no to flowers? There are certain varieties where you just put your bulbs in a bit of water and watch them go. Put those bulbs in a floor vase for some easy color with no effort from you. (via The Diversion Project)

Your vase doesn’t have to be clear either. Opt for a solid color, white or something else that matches your decor, and fill it with fake florals that look real on top while you hide the not-so-pretty bottoms. (via Bows and Sequins)

Who says you need to fill your floor vase with anything? Just a great big vase in an empty corner will make your decor seem more complete rather than leaving the space empty.

You know those planters that have legs? Give your floor vase some legs too. It will help you make a smaller vase look bigger and higher and grander than it actually is so everybody wins. (via April and May)

Maybe you’re a huge fan of floor vases and have several stashed away in your decorating storage. You now have permission to bring them out and display them all at once. Line them up on shelves or along an empty wall or gather them together in a corner. Collections always look nice and polished.

If you really want to break the rules, don’t let your floor vases just sit on the floor. Hoist them up on your entryway table or hallway shelf instead. You might like the higher greenery even better than corner filler.

60 White is a residential project completed by Ula Bochinska of Bostudio Architecture. The complex, which is host to eight luxury residential lofts, is located in the heart of TriBeCa, in New York City, USA.

The homes are intended to not just be able to boast of the height of design and good taste, but also of their sustainability and energy efficiency. An approximate 80% of the materials used were part of the existing structure, having been restored and reclaimed for the new finished product. Others are locally sourced, such as a 300-year-old reclaimed oak and Danby marble, which serve to add a touch of authenticity and history to the spaces while honoring the building’s own past.

The homes are represented by Shaun Osher and Emily Beare of Core Group Marketing, offering 2- and 3-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 1,943 to 3,129 square feet. Prices start at $4.65 million.

The interiors are done in an earthy color palette, and mixing elegant elements – such as hardwood floors and modern furnishings and pieces of art – with more rustic ones – such as the exposed brick walls – to create a unique and stylish effect. In fact, wooden surfaces pervade the entire interior, creating a sense of uniformity and continuity that adds to the tightness of the design.
