Mykonos may be known for its party atmosphere and go-all-night bar scene, but amid the glitz and glamour there’s a luxurious and serene hotel where beauty and relaxation reign. Rocabella Mykonos is situated on a beach just a few minutes drive from the pulsing rhythm of Chora — a setting that is private and laid-back but within easy reach of the humming town.
The feel of the property is relaxed and a bit bohemian, mixing natural stone with the iconic white Cycladic architecture style. The pool area of the hotel has plenty of room for swimming, relaxing and dining in the great Greek outdoors.

The public areas of the hotel set the tone for the rest of the property, which is relaxed and natural. The glamour in this hotel is its lack of glitz and the focus on earthy luxury. Natural wood furnishings and comfortable seating dominate the hip and stylish lobby and shop area, punctuated by vibrant greenery in clay pots.

Rocabella also has plenty of outdoor space, such as the shaded restaurant called Reeza. The name, which means “root” in Greek, is a nod to the restaurant’s philosophy of cooking with heart and soul, enlivening taste and honoring tradition. The kitchen’s contemporary take on Greek flavors are served in this amazing space, that offers fabulous views of the neighboring islands as well as Chora. This is also where guests can have the signature Greek breakfast to start them off on a day of island adventures — or seaside lounging.

While the common areas in the hotel are beautiful, the private balconies and terraces of the guest rooms are the stars of the show. Just a few hundred meters from the Agio Stefanos beach, all of the hotel’s 21 rooms and suites offer views of the sea and surroundings. Characterized by simple styles, bright whites and earth tones, as well as and natural materials, the guest accommodations all have outdoor areas for enjoying the outdoors. Balconies and terraces of different sizes and styles offer space to relax alone or sip a glass of wine with your traveling companion. The chic furnishings are Arc en Ciel from Emu, and include the folding steel chair and round table, which work well with the minimalist lines of the guest accommodations.

For some visitors, the beach is it, and Agios Stefanos offers a sandy seaside perch for swimming and sunning. Rocabella has the towels all packed and ready for a beach outing for those who want to go. The hotel has a platform near the beach that is equipped with comfortable and stylish lounges.

When it comes to the guest rooms and suites, Rocabella provides spaces that are chic and minimalist, letting the spectacular surroundings speak for themselves. Guest can luxuriate in simplicity and serenity in the all-white spaces that are adorned with a minimum of accessories and just a hint of color that is appropriate for the location. Bright white bedding nearly disappears against dazzling white walls that make the bed feel like a floating cloud. Natural rattan shades are on the hanging pendant lights on each side of the bed.

To maintain an open and airy feel, the room has a minimum of walls, relying on an innovative rail in the corner of the room for hanging clothing, along with a built-in bench and full-length mirror that is an artful accessory. All the pieces feel natural and casual.

Even though the space is very relaxed and natural, it includes all of the creature comforts that a guest might want, from Wi-fi and satellite television to air conditioning and organic toiletries. Electronics and equipment are unobtrusive and do not detract for the clean decor.

Some of the larger sea view rooms, as well as the junior and full suite, have more outdoor space on the terrace as well. This gives you more room to spread out and relax, especially if you have friends or family up to your room. This also gives you more space for lounging and soaking up the sun. These are also the rooms that offers more living space inside the guest room thanks to the separate bedroom.

One of the best areas of the hotel is the pool, because spending time outdoors is a prime goal for most visitors. It’s large and stylish with chic Sand lounges from Ethimo. The teak and Textplast sunbeds have plush, upholstered cushions. there is plenty of room around the pool and the restaurant on the pool deck allows you to dine outside as well. At night, the pool takes on an even more romantic feel as the sun drops below the horizon and the candles around the pool are lit.

Amid all the white Cycladic architecture is a feature that is immensely popular: Private jacuzzis and hot tubs. The hotel’s suites have either a plunge pool, jacuzzi or hot tub for guests’ private enjoyment. Imagine sipping an evening beverage, watching the sun sink from your own outdoor tub or pool. This is the ultimate in luxurious relaxation!

Another essential for the hotel is the bathrooms in the guest suites, which are spacious and functional. Just as in the rest of the space, the walls are white and the wood rustic, to help maintain the relaxed feeling. Set off the bedroom, they feature all the usual amenities and stylish touches, such as the ladder towel hanger.

The bathroom is protected from the open shower by a partial glass wall. It includes a wonderful rain shower head. The farmhouse style sink in the vanity is paired with a wall-mounted faucet underneath the large mirror. The white palette overall is clean and crisp. It also includes organic amenities for guests.

Of all the guest rooms, the Rocabella’s Front Sea View Suite with outdoor spa bath really outs the Aegean view front and center. The bed is the focal point of the room, situated in the center on a raised platform with the rest of the features surrounding it. Guests can awaken with the sea and the distant shoreline spread out in front of them, without even getting out of bed.
