This small but charming house was designed by the architect Marià Castelló, in 2016 and is located in the well-known Fomentera Island, a Mediterranean island that is part of the Balearic Islands of Spain. It covers a total area of 69 square meters and is fully integrated with the landscape that surrounds it since it was designed from the deep respect for the techniques, materials and aesthetics of traditional architecture.
It has also been designed with a bioclimatic approach, and after a rigorous study of the prevailing winds, the house was designed in such a way that it takes advantage of cross ventilation to ensure a cool environment during the summer months.
Materials used in the construction, such as thermo-clay, pine wood, limestone, or lime mortars often form the exterior layers of the home. This has given rise to constructive solutions that bring more warmth and comfort to the house.
It has comfortable spaces, open and full of natural light and an exterior surrounded by the typical arid vegetation of the area.
Its interior has scarce furniture, just enough to properly enjoy the space.
A modern white kitchen, open with doors to the outside terrace, is accompanied by a light wooden table and a modern chair.
