New babies are wonderful things but most will admit that there is an element of stress to them. Especially if it’s your first. Let’s start off by saying that there is absolutely nothing wrong with white. An all white nursery will feel fresh and clean, even during that 2am feeding. Plus it will give you great lighting for all those baby pictures you are bound to take.

White is such a great color because whether your home is sleek and modern or farmhouse rustic, a white nursery will definitely blend. Start with your base shade and build off of that depending on the rest of your home’s decor.

Of course if you’re considering white, you also have to consider black. Those deep inky shades will create a cave-like space for your little one to get a good rest. You might even want to nap in there yourself.

Looking for the perfect in between? You’ll find it in gray. There are so many shades of gray and they all match so while you’re filling the nursery with all your necessities, as long as it’s gray, it will work.

Your monochrome gray nursery doesn’t have to be all pale to be beautiful. Going for a mix of pastel grays along with some deeper grays can give you a really chic look. It also frees you to choose any shade of gray you want.

In the eclectic home, most are more worried about the variation of textures than variation of shades. In that case, you’d better go brown in your monochrome nursery. This opens up beige as your base with opportunity for wood and baskets to shake things up.
