This abandoned farmhouse in Tuscany dating back to the 1400s was turned into a family home using a mix of original details, modern designs and cool elements.

The owners wanted an open home liberated from rigid rules and borders, and therefore the spaces are flowing into each other with invisible zones – not only in the interior, but also between the indoor and outdoor areas. With an outdoor kitchen and pool, the garden is a natural gathering place for both family and friends.

The house was transformed into a modern and functional home without compromising the historical roots, it the finest example of art déco style. The wooden beams in the roof and the original stone walls were preserved, and both gave the home its own special character. The owner likes metallic details, so the house is filled with brass, gold and silver accents, which make the spaces look refined. She has also found some of the furniture pieces at flea markets, so here you can see designer furniture and flea market finds.

My favorite space here is the master bedroom. The shiny eye-catchy bed in brass gold, chic black lamps and different nightstands in black and gold make this not only a sleeping zone but a masterpiece of art deco design, too. Look at that shiny black chair – it’s just gorgeous! I would give anything to have one in my own bedroom!
