Villa ZüV is a monolithic structure designed by Pablo Belda and Tomás Amat from the Spanish architectural firm Tomás Amat Estudio de Arquitectura in 2017. The detached, single family home is located in a residential neighborhood of Elche, in the province of Alicante, in Spain, and covers a total ground area of nearly 600 square meters in a 1,000 square meter plot of land.
The architectural firm needed to achieve both privacy and quality in this home for a couple with two children, and balance that with the clients’ desires to convey simplicity, elegance, and functionality through their new home’s architecture.
The home is distributed across two levels – a ground floor and a basement. The ground floor holds the entrance, as well as the kitchen, living room, study, bathroom, and a guest room. The basement holds the garage and facilities rooms. These two floors are accessible through a staircase that also serves as a centerpiece that connects the different levels of the villa.
The home’s interior is minimalistic in its design, with sparse decoration and stark white walls. Color accents are left to the rich wood of the wall paneling present in the kitchen and the wooden rods that come together to create a barrier beside the staircase.
