If you’re someone who loves collecting coffee mugs or are running out of space to store your coffee mugs, then I have a super easy DIY for you! Today’s DIY is all about creating a small place to store either those special coffee mugs, that matching set of mugs you got on vacation, or to simply store the few coffee mugs you do have. In addition, this DIY is only three steps and allows you to really customize the entire piece to fit your kitchen style!

Today we are making a Coffee Mug Holder Wall Hanging! This wall hanging as I mentioned is super easy to make and only requires a few materials. With that being said, the main material used in this project is a wooden tray. Using a wooden tray may seem a bit unusual, however, it’s the perfect base to display and store all your special coffee mugs. The wooden tray I used in this project is 12 inches by 12 inches. I also purchased my wooden tray from the craft store, but you could purchase your wooden tray from a thrift store instead. When looking for a wooden tray, I would keep the following questions in mind:

• What type of coffee mugs do I want to display?


• How big are the coffee mugs in comparison to the wooden tray?


• How many coffee mugs do I want to display?

Keeping these questions in mind and knowing the answers ahead of time, will make the project go much smoother.

So, to find out how to make your own coffee mug holder wall hanging, keep reading below!

Supplies

• Wooden Tray


• Wooden Knobs


• Paint


• Foam Brush


• Sawtooth Hook


• Industrial Strength Glue

Step 1: Paint the inside of your wooden tray and set it aside to dry.

Step 2: Place your wooden knobs where you would like to hang your coffee mugs. While doing this you may want to have a few coffee mugs handy, to test out the overall place. Once you’re happy with where the knobs are, glue each one into place, and set the whole thing aside to dry.

Step 3: When you’re wooden knobs have completely dried, flip your wooden tray over. Then grab your sawtooth hook, glue it into place on the back of the wooden tray, and set the whole thing aside to dry.

Once the sawtooth hook as completely dried, you’re ready to hang your new coffee mug holder on the wall!

I loved how this coffee mug holder turned out! I think the mix of the wood with the splash of color really gives the whole piece a retro look.

When making this coffee mug holder, you should also be aware of the wooden knobs that you buy for this project. This is because you want the wooden knobs to be able to hold your different types of coffee mug handle. In this case, the wooden knobs I bought worked fine, but I would probably buy a skinnier version in the future.
