This new single family home is actually an annex built into an existing structure dating back to the 1980s. It was designed by Jan Skuratowski Architecture in 2016, covers an area of 217 m2, and is located in Möhlin, Switzerland.

Its exterior, with walls lined with slabs of wood, presents us with a rustic façade; however, the glass walls in the posterior side of the home add a more current touch to the structure.

Its terrace, with wooden floors, makes a tour around most of the house, giving us incredible and beautiful views from different fronts. Privileged that we are, we can enjoy those pleasant views, since the annex is built on a small hillside which gives us a height advantage over the surroundings.

Inside, the beautiful veined light-wood floors are highlighted by the light that flows in through the glass doors, creating a space that is clear and pleasing to the senses.

MORE INSPIRATION

The black and white kitchen of minimalist lines seems almost hidden in a corner of the house.

Lastly, the stairs that lead us to the second level are fully lined in wood and are accompanied by a chain-link mesh. Already upstairs, the wood continues to be the main protagonist as we find it in floors and ceiling in a pleasant space.
