Triangle House is a project designed by Ganna Design. “Triangle is beyond a geometric sign or a decorative element in this house. The house is owned by two girls and their puppy, so the design concept is centered on ” good friends”. Triangle is thus generated to be the main element which represents the inseparable three roles in the house.

The harmony and balance in a triangle symbolize the good friendship between them. Designers apply triangle element in many corners no matter in door leaves, cabinets or even on the ceiling. The triangle on the ceiling cleverly softens the visual pressure brought by beams and pillars, while allowing the view extending to out of the window. Gray is the ground color so that the colorful decorations, furniture and even the window view outside can be included in the whole design. No matter at what corner, people in the house can enjoy the beautiful surrounding view outside, reminding the house owners to slow down their pace and to spent more time with their beloved family and friends. Another triangle can be seen on the glass door of the bedroom. There is a small entrance on bottom of the glass door, so the house owner’s loyal friend can run in and out freely.

As the tailor cut out a garment, designers make several “turndown collars” on the door leaves. Such design technique is a nice touch that makes this simplicity style house more interesting. The silver wall turns a corner and extends to the master bedroom wardrobe. The folds on the door leaves become the handles of wardrobe doors, echoing the house owners’ daily preferences for making handmade stuffs. On weekdays, the owner will make some handicrafts on the long table. This long table is designed by combining two different materials, symbolizing that people from different backgrounds can be bound together. Inside the design concept are the greetings and wishes from the designer.”

25 Fresh Ways To Style Your Mantel For Christmas

Traditional Christmas decor is all about reds, greens and whites but what if you don’t want that all colorful cheer? No worries, there are many more styles and ideas to try for winter holidays, and today I’d like to share some fresh and interesting ways to style your mantel for Christmas, and I promise, you won’t see anything tasteless or too colorful here!

Go Evergreens

Evergreens are symbolic for Christmas, and using them for decorating a Christmas mantel is a great idea, whether they are faux or natural ones. Making evergreen garlands is a great idea to try, they are very comfy to line up the mantel, such garlands can be accessorized with pinecones, ornaments and lights to make them cooler. Small evergreen trees are also a cool idea for a mantel, put a couple on one or both sides and you’ll get a festive feel at once. Even undecorated trees and garlands look cool and holiday-like, sometimes some evergreens and candles are everything that you need to create a fantastic Christmas mantel.

Add Some Stockings

Stockings used to be an indispensable part of Christmas decor but then they were not very popular, and now they are making a huge comeback. If you want to add a fun and relaxing touch to the decor, there’s nothing better than some stockings, and they can be taken in different shades – neutrals, monochromatic, black and white, or different materials like burlap or faux fur. Hang some on the mantel and you’ll see the holiday cheer at once.

Stick To The Style Of The Space

Don’t forget that your mantel decor should somehow coordinate with the rest of decor around, so add the touches of the style you have here. If it’s a vintage-styled room, why not add lace and vignettes? If you have a glam space, go gilded vases and candle holders and add shiny touches, and slight rustic touches can fit most of decor styles except for the most refined ones. Look at the ideas below and choose!

Designer Laura Fox brings clean-lined, transitional style to a home in Bethesda

The crisp-white, shingle-and-plank-clad house stands out in a sea of nondescript brick ramblers in a suburban Bethesda neighborhood. It’s an attractive—and not unusual—sight in this fast-changing town, where swaths of modest mid-century homes are being replaced at a clip by larger abodes.

In this case, the house belongs to David Yurko, a spec-home developer who renovates older homes in DC. Though his business, Urban Restoration, is Washington-based, Yurko grew up in Bethesda and never pictured living anywhere else. When he and his girlfriend, Casey Shaffer, were house-hunting, they lit on this single-story brick house with the idea of retaining its footprint and building up, cantilevering out on the second-floor level to get more space. Architect Hendri Tirtanadi drew up plans and Yurko collaborated with contractor Stephen Shum of Workshop11 on construction. The finished three-bedroom residence houses Yurko’s father in a lower-level apartment, with plenty of space for Yurko, Shaffer and their three dogs to spread out on three floors above.

The couple had a few must-haves, including an open floor plan sans formal dining room, a large mudroom and indoor and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces. Crisp millwork and materials add character throughout the house, from coffered ceilings and crown moldings to batten-board wainscot and shiplap siding in the powder and mud rooms. In the kitchen and bathrooms, custom Dura Supreme cabinetry is topped with honed Carrara marble counters. Wide-plank, pickled white-oak floors in a matte finish keep the interiors light.

“With very neutral, calm furniture, we definitely  needed some contrast.”  —Laura Fox

Mid-way through construction, Yurko, who has worked with designer Laura Fox on spec homes, hired her “to help us sort through everything and hone in on a look,” he explains.

Gleaning her clients’ transitional style and needs, Fox envisioned what Yurko calls a “modern farmhouse” sensibility. She presented the couple with several color-palette options; they selected a tone-on-tone scheme against white walls. Black-painted window and door frames throughout “took some persuading,” Fox recalls, “but with very neutral, calm furniture, we definitely needed some contrast.”

When Fox entered the picture, she discovered that her clients had already ordered a good deal of the furniture. However, she deemed most of the pieces too small for the large, open living/dining area. “It all got cancelled,” Shaffer says with a smile. “We started over.”

To anchor the space, Fox selected a Hickory White sectional large enough to seat nine and a CFC coffee table. In the dining area, chairs by Four Hands surround a table from CFC with a hammered-zinc top. To separate the spaces visually, Fox chose high-backed Lillian August wing chairs with a modern silhouette in dark-gray leather that face the sitting area, then cleverly upholstered the backs in a light stripe that keeps their mass from seeming obtrusive.

The couple are enjoying their new abode, just minutes from bustling downtown Bethesda with its shops and restaurants and pedestrian-friendly streets. Yet they enthuse over their safe, walkable neighborhood. “I’m not a city dweller,” Yurko says. “I like the urban and suburban aspects of this area.”

Altaire 1 Apartment by Kababie Arquitectos

This inspiring luxurious apartment located in Mexico City, Mexico, was designed in 2017 by Kababie Arquitectos.

Description by Kababie Arquitectos

For this project, the customers asked us for warm and harmonious environments that generate peace of mind without losing modernity.

They wanted to express their essence in all the spaces through different textures, colors and furniture, carefully selected for them.

The budget for the entire project was 500,000.00 euro.

In order to meet the customers requests, the premise of the project was the inside/outside connection to generate open and versatile spaces that could change from public to private through a subtle transition.

The central axis of the project was the public area (lounge-dining room-dining area) dividing spaces through different materials and textures without dividing walls, thus providing a feeling of spaciousness, integrating both classical and modern art pieces and taking full advantage of natural lighting.

We designed a double-function fountain inspired by the Mexican sculptor Jorge Yázpik. It also has 2 original photographs of Peter Lik.

We used a dark and intense color palette to balance furniture and convey elegance.

The master bedroom seizes natural light allowing spaciousness and achieving an inside/outside connection. The main bedroom lights are Fandango lamps by hive. The study room lamp is from Marcel Wanders.

With the careful selection of materials and lighting, we were able to transform the main bathroom into the clients’ sanctuary; complemented with the design of a large dressing room.

One of the main attractions of the apartment is its contemporaneity in the use of materials, lighting and accessories.

Fresh Start

A couple with young boys saw potential in the 1980s-era Arnold, Maryland, home they’d recently purchased, though they knew it needed substantial work. They hired Owings Brothers Contracting of Eldersburg, Maryland, to complete a major overhaul, from modernizing the outdated kitchen and baths to opening up the interiors to views of the Severn River. They also traded a dark, clunky wooden staircase for lighter hickory wood stairs framed in glass—and incorporated an indoor slide that the boys now enjoy when heading down to their playroom on the newly finished lower level.

Tranquil Retreat

Tasked with renovating a drab master bath in Great Falls, Virginia, AV Architects + Builders started by reconfiguring its dysfunctional layout. Shifting what had been a large walk-in closet to a disused side of the adjacent bedroom, they gained valuable space for an oversized tub; an open shower with rain, hand-held and regular shower heads; and a WC screened by frosted glass. Oversized porcelain tile from Marble Systems covers the walls and the floors, which are equipped with radiant heating; a new window bathes the room in light. Meanwhile, double vanities and a built-in bench beckon on the other side of this modern, spa-like space.

20 DIY Christmas Presents For Dad – Little Reminders Of Affection

https://interior-designing.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/20-diy-christmas-presents-for-dad-little-reminders-of-affection.jpg

Welcome to new post: 20 DIY Christmas Presents For Dad – Little Reminders Of Affection and get new design inspirations. Interior-Designing.net updating latest news about beautiful home designs, home decoration, interior design, Furniture design, Interior design, Bedroom Designs, Living Room Designs, Bathroom Designs, Kitchen Designs, Teen Room Designs, Kids room design ,Accessories design, Decoration design, Accessories design, Dining room design. Dads aren’t usually the sentimental type but that doesn’t mean they’re not soft and cuddly on the inside or that they don’t appreciate a thoughtful gift, especially when it comes from someone they love. When’s the last time you did something special for your dad? Christmas is the perfect opportunity to show him how much you care about him and you could do that with any of these crafty Christmas gift ideas. Don’t worry…we haven’t forgotten about mom so be sure to check our inspiring collection of Christmas presents for moms everywhere.

Does your dad travel often? Actually, it doesn’t matter because a map cork board bulletin can be useful even when you’re not pinning places on it. It’s a stylish accessory for a home office but it can also fit well in other spaces. The map is a nice touch, adding color to the board and giving it a nice identity. Give this to your dad on Christmas so he can stay organized during the year to come.

A charging dock is a very useful and suitable gift for every dad, whether yours likes to keep up with the latest technological improvements or not. You can make a charging dock for the phone using a simple wooden box. Make sure the box has just the right size. It’s been a while since phones were as small as the one in this tutorial so check out the phone that your dad has to see the dimensions. In addition to the wooden box, you’ll also need a piece of cork, a dowel, some paint or stain, a drill, a saw and some glue.

Here’s something else that you can make for your dad’s home office or desk: a wooden block lamp. Obviously, you’ll need a wooden block and apart from that you should also have a drill, a screwdriver, lamp cord, a light socket kit and a light bulb. Although it may seem a bit technical, this project is not difficult. In fact, it’s quite easy. You could use an Edison light bulb for a nice and pleasant look. Don’t you also love that little air plant in the corner?

Men don’t usually get too many toiletries or bathroom accessories as gifts, these usually being more suitable for women because of how delicate and dainty they are. However, we managed to find an example that’s rather masculine: a mason jar soap dispenser. We love its somewhat rough appearance which at the same time is very homey-looking. The greatest thing about it is how easy it is to make. All you need is a glass jar, some spray paint, glue, a soap pump and some sandpaper if you want to give it a distressed finish.

Ah..the router. It’s so annoying that this must-have piece of technology sticks out like a sore thumb no matter how much you try to make a living room or an office look cozy and inviting. It’s a general problem so your dad probably faces it too and he may not even realize there’s actually a solution for it. That makes this gift that much better. Make a cover to hide the router and make sure it has the right dimensions. Pay attention to the overall decor of the room as well.

We think everyone should have a key rack in their home and for this occasion we looked back to find some designs that would be fit for a dad. There’s one that you can do with a few square nails and a rectangular piece of wood. You’ll also need some clear coat or polyurethane spray, some string and a bit of gold spray paint (if you like the look). We like this square nail key rack because they have a rugged, masculine look.

There’s another key rack that we really like and this one is special because it features old keys instead of hooks or nails. Maybe you could make this special by using some old keys that hold a special meaning for you or for your dad. In any case, it should be a fairly simple project for which you only need a small piece of wood and some screws. You can paint or stain the wood if you want.

If your dad likes to read, these half log bookends could be a great Christmas present for him. They’re very easy to make and the hardest part is finding a wooden log. Once you have it, cut it in half and sand down the edges. You can then have fun painting the wood in whatever colors you want. If you think your dad would prefer something more simple and natural, you can use wood stain or varnish instead.

Whether your dad likes to read books, magazines or the newspaper, this is not exactly relevant right now because this X-shaped rack can hold them all. To make something like this, you need two wooden planks with equal dimensions and rectangular shapes and a saw. If you want you can paint or stain the wood but we actually like the way it looks with nothing on it. It’s a great accessory for reading corners or living rooms.

With a stylish cross stitch leather catchall like this one you can inspire your dad to be organized and you’d be offering him a personal and thoughtful gift at the same time. He’ll be able to use this as an organizer for things like his phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses and other things that usually stay scattered across the desk or the table. This is actually a universal present that would make anyone happy. Maybe you should make something like this for yourself too.

This hexagonal tray is pretty similar to the leather catchall we just showed you. it has more or less the same function. You could make something like this our of plywood, You’d need a saw, glue, some small nails and spray paint in any color you prefer. This is a nice accessory for the desk and for homes in general. It keeps things organized and it clusters small items together, freeing up space and keeping the room tidy.

What about something purely decorative? Would your dad cherish something like that? Probably yes since it will be coming from you. The project that we have in mind involves some custom wall art with a handmade frame. Think of this as a starting point, a source of inspiration for something unique which lets you show your appreciation for your dad in a creative and artistic manner. Your project doesn’t have to be identical to this wooden slat hanging frame so find your own style.

Studies show that it’s good to have plants inside the house and, based on that, you can come up with a great Christmas present idea for your dad, one which looks good and has health benefits as well. We’re talking about a planter, of course. However, it’s not just any type of planter. It’s made of a tree trunk and it looks lovely. The plant is actually symbolic in this case but you can make this project work for large plants as well if you want to. Check out our tutorial to make as awesome tree trunk planter.

Show your dad that your learned a thing or two from him (assuming he likes to fix and to craft things as well) by offering him an actual piece of furniture this Christmas. For the gift to be special and meaningful, it has to be something that you made yourself. Don’t worry, we’re keeping it simple. This coffee table with hairpin legs is really easy to put together. You need a pallet, a saw, a drill, four hairpin legs, varnish and a hammer.

We like to help people stay organized and you can inspire others to do so too by offering them cool gifts like this facade wire hanger. You can have a lot of fun with this project. You need small gauge copper grounding wire, wire cutters, large pliers and a break line bender. You can give it any shape you want. It could mimic the landscape that surrounds a house or it could feature a completely different theme.

Something else you can craft for your dad as a Christmas present is this double box shelf which is easy to make and pretty versatile too. Go ahead and find two wooden boxes. If you can’t find any, you can just craft them from scratch. You’ll need a saw to cut off a section so the boxes can intersect. You can have a lot of fun customizing this project with shelves or any size and shape you want. Paint them or stain them, depending on the look you’re trying to achieve.

I’ve been trying to get a magnetic knife holder for quite some time and I know I’d definitely love to receive one as a gift. It’s the type of practical and handy gift that your dad might enjoy too so go ahead and make it a special present. Get a wooden block and a drill and make a bunch of holes in which you’ll later put heavy duty magnets. Sand and stain the wood and add brackets for easy hanging on the wall.

This industrial pipe coffee cart is a perfect DIY project for beginners. It’s easy to put together and it doesn’t look clumsy at all. In fact, it has a well-balanced and nice looking design which you can improve in a lot of ways if you put your mind to it. Of course, before you go ahead and get all the things for this task, take a moment to decide whether or not your dad actually needs a cart or if he even has the space for it in the house. It doesn’t have to be a coffee cart specifically but more like a multipurpose side table with shelves and wheels.

Good-looking light fixtures are hard to come by and an easier option is often to get a lamp or a pendant that’s special in a distinctive way and a DIY piece fulfills this condition perfectly. So what do you say? Would your dad be happy to get a handmade mason jar desk lamp this Christmas? Only one way to find out so you’d better start working on this.

We love it when tree stumps are turned into beautiful furniture pieces and home accessories.
