This wonderful hideaway nestled in the mountains of Quebec, Canada, boasts all the amenities of modern facilities. It was designed by the architectural firm Alain Carle Architecte, who placed a horizontal plane on the steep slope and created rooms both above and below the plateau.
Located in the Laurentian Mountains, La Héronnière is set on large rocks overlooking a forest. Customers chose this place because of its wonderful natural surroundings.
The construction has polished concrete floors and ceilings lined with light wood. The house has been designed to function almost completely autonomously, “said study founder Alain Carle. Much of the energy in the house comes from photovoltaic panels.
Surrounded by pine trees, which protect it from the wind and at the same time fill it with freshness and intimacy, this construction fulfills the owners’ wishes to live in a place full of harmony. At the top, the black-clad structure houses a den, master suite, guest bedroom and bathroom, with a separate biomass system to the west with a solar powered ceiling. Behind, an open-plan living room is located next to the kitchen and is divided only by a dining table.
