This building, a former groundhog track, which for obvious reasons stopped serving this function a few years ago, and which is now in complete disuse, was in its time one of the most emblematic buildings in the city of Barcelona, Spain.
After being renovated in 2016, Dear Design was charged with the task of updating its interior design, and so transforming it into a flexible and dynamic space for entrepreneurs of creative and cultural industries from the city of Barcelona.
Having been converted into the Parque de Investigación Creativa de Barcelona (or Creative Investigation Park of Barcelona), it has managed to recover its social part in the city.
With the firm purpose of creating pleasant spaces, which at the same time are comfortable, materials like wood and acoustic panels were used, creating a contrast against the already-existing steel structure.
Dear Design fulfills a need for a “hub” office that would foment the interaction of its users and would, in a way, further promote the present-day work style: flexibility and adaptability in the working space, giving mobility to the user.
Its interior, which covers a total area of approximately 1,312 square meters, the modern spaces are perfectly accessible, and a natural flow of spaces is present.
The furnishings used in the remodeling are a clear reference to the architect Antoni Bonet i Castellana.
