Textural And Warm Minimalist House In Antwerp

Get ready to see a warm, textured approach to minimalism in this beautiful Antwerp house by Nicolas Schuybroek. It shows that minimalism isn’t about only black and white, it can be textural, warm and very comfortable.

The interiors are done in a neutral color palette: black, white, cream, beige and grey shades, you can see herringbone floors, ceiling’s exposed beams, which don’t have any vintage flavor, only ultra-modern. Large windows provide generous natural light. What I love about these interiors is much texture, which makes them interesting and completes perfectly: different types of upholstery and wood, marble and stone.

The living room features white walls and stone floors, wooden beams on the ceiling, a marble fireplace and a selection of cool designer furniture, among which I’d like to accentuate a low wooden coffee table – its chunky and rough look really stand out in this peaceful interior.

The bathroom is very spacious and light-filled because of a large window and white marble all over, even the bathtub is clad with it, and the sinks are of white marble, too. The kitchen is also fully clad with white marble, and one of the walls is glazed with an entrance to the terrace. The dining space is separated from the kitchen with a half wall, and there’s a wooden dining set with jute seats. A black and white staircase connects the stories of this early 19th century structure, which has been reworked by the architect.
