This Victorian cottage was designed by Eugene Cheah Architecture in 2016, and is located in Australia. It has recently undergone an extension with a more contemporary style. Because of the style already present in the building, the implementation of a new style accentuated the presence of the original. This became especially true as the inhabitants move from the confined spaces of the original building to the larger, expanded sections. The laminated hoop pine was also used extensively, largely to add more definition to the new spaces.

A sky light runs along the northern edge of the cottage, just above the rafters. Its beautiful and yet simple interior, filled with natural light for the majority of the day, creates spaces that call to the attention of the five senses. The use of wood to coat not only floors but also the walls and ceiling, as well as the furniture, can thus be thoroughly enjoyed by the occupants.

The living room is a combination of gray couches with matching carpets and modern white tables. Meanwhile, the dining room has a large round table painted white with chairs of a matching color. This makes it stand out from the natural wood color that surrounds it, creating a beautiful mixture of materials and colors.
