Lounge chairs and ottomans go hand in hand. They’re a great combo, an iconic duo and an excellent fit for spaces like living rooms, sitting areas, reading nooks and social spaces in general. While you can definitely mix and match your favorite designs, there are plenty of matching chair and ottoman sets to choose from as well. We selected some of our favorite designs and we’re ready to share them with you.

The Catifa chair and ottoman set is defined by a very simple and clean design with straight lines and an X-shaped base. The chair can be tilted and adjusted for increased comfort. The only missing things would have to be the armrests. Nevertheless, the chair is comfortable, especially with the added ottoman.

The shape of the Havana chair is designed to be comfortable but also stylish and elegant. The design is classic with a hint of modern minimalism. Its high backrest and padded seat are complemented by steel legs available with a white, grey, black or copper finish.

You can freely mix and match the pieces from the Dala collection in any way you want. They’re all designed to look casual and to be relaxing and comfortable. One of the best combos is between one of these oversized chair and ottoman pieces. They have these rounded bases and they’re perfect for decks, gardens or poolside areas.

In case you’re having second thoughts, you can always count on the classics, like the Miller lounge chair and ottoman set. They’re simple but they’re comfortable and quite elegant and, in addition to that, they’re very versatile. They have steel frames and a layer of wood under the seats. The seat and backrest are covered in leather.

There’s something intriguing about the Assaya armchair and it has something to do with the way the armrests curve. They wrap around the seat and they form this cozy and comfortable shell together with the backrest. The combination of fabric and leather give the armchair a refined and sophisticated look. The matching pouf is made from the same materials.

The design of the Gender armchair is a bit unusual in the sense that it has this layered structure. It has a soft padded seat and backrest layered on top of a rigid shell enhanced by a colored leather edge. The matching pouf features the same combination. It has a leather footrest band and a fabric seat.

With a design that’s a modern reinterpretation of the classic wingback chair, lounge chair 808 stands out with its interesting geometry and highly comfortable form. It’s one of the most relaxing chairs described so far. The upholstery concept was exclusively developed for this chair. The ottoman has the same wavy leather finish and sleek sharpness as the chair.

With a sleek and thin frame made of tubular steel and voluminously upholstered seat and backrest, the classic S 411 armchair is an unusual and intriguing piece of furniture. A matching footstool is available, designed with the same characteristics. Several types of leather and fabric are available.

Its name is Lazy and its a very chic and modern armchair. It has this sinuous form with delicate curves and a seat with extra padding for increased comfort. The matching ottoman is designed in a similar way, with a layered seat. The chair also has a cushion for lumbar support.

The Cuoio Lounge is the type of chair that impresses with its understated beauty and minimalism. It’s designed using simple materials and it has a very sleek and linear design with a very thin metal base and a folding sheet that forms the seat and backrest. It’s surprisingly soft and comfortable and the footstool is the perfect companion for those lazy afternoons when you just want to relax.

We find the 423 Cab Lounge chair to be a very peculiar piece of furniture. It has a design based on contrasts. On one hand it looks sleek and delicate, with sinuous curves and a slender metal base but, on the other hand, it has an imposing and solid look. The leather upholstery further highlights these details. The matching ottoman shares the same particularities but in a simplified version.

If you’re looking for a chair and ottoman set that can complement a traditional or classical decor, check out the Blixen series. It’s an eclectic design option with elements of both modern and traditional. The designs are simple and practical, with clean lines and angles. Of course, the armchair is also designed to be comfortable.

The story of the Slice collection began in 1996 when the first sketches were made. A couple of years later the production started and these playful-looking chairs and ottomans have been popular ever since. They’re appreciated for their modularity and the many ways in which they can be combined to create custom seating arrangements for various types of spaces and situations.

In addition to looking very elegant and imposing, this armchair also has a catchy name: the Blackbird. It’s one of the four armchairs in the Birds Collection. It’s incredibly comfortable, featuring deep tufts and a perfectly designed seat with a backrest just high enough to be relaxing. The armchair has a shell-like exterior made of a composite material commonly used in boats. A stylish ottoman is available, with the same beautiful characteristics that made the chair stand out in the first place.

This is the Lovebird, one of the other three armchairs in the Birds Collection. Compared to its brother, previously mentioned, its design is a bit simplified. It only has four button tufts in the backrest while the seat is flat and smooth, with no recessed. The ottoman’s seat looks the same.

Meet Hope, an interesting-looking armchair with a seemingly too high backrest. It’s the type of chair that could look imposing in an office. You can use it in combination with the matching footstool. This oversized chair and ottoman duo has have fabric or leather upholstery and their designs are inspired by Scandinavian furniture but with an obvious twist.

This looks like an odd duo. Separately, each of these armchairs looks interesting and charming in its own way and when put together like this they complement each other pretty well. One is the Lovebird, a design we already mentioned and the other one is the Softbird, an armchair with rounded and upholstered armrests that spread to the sides in a casual and cozy way.

This is the Grand Repos armchair. It’s designed by Antonio Citterio and it’s most comfortable when paired with the matching ottoman. Together they’re the perfect setup for incredibly relaxing moments, whether at home or at the office.

Of course, we haven’t forgotten about the most iconic armchair and ottoman duo ever, the one designed by Charles and Ray Eames back in the 1950s. They’re the ultimate pair when it comes to comfortable furniture which also looks incredibly stylish and elegant in a timeless way.

Like a lot of other lounge chairs, Pala was designed to follow the shape of the human body. The element that distinguishes it from other furniture pieces is the form. The chair looks simple and contemporary and welcomes the user with a sort of egg-shaped seat and a cone-shaped base which can also be seen on the matching ottoman. It combines in a variety of fresh colors.

A notable detail in the design of this Slim Lounge is the form of the armrests. The T=shaped arms give the chair a rather playful and fun look and at the same time enhance its simplicity and beauty. The ottoman has the same base as the chair and together they look elegant and quite versatile actually. Something in this design makes the series look very attractive and soothing. It might have something to do with the earthy colors.

There’s something quite intriguing about the New York Bergère lounge chair. It has a lot to do with the contrast between the thin metal frame and the cushy upholstered shell it holds. The high back ensures a comfortable seating experience while the design as a whole is quite versatile and suitable for a variety of settings.

Kepi is a wonderful chair for reading or relaxation in general, especially when paired with the ottoman. The height of the backrest, the form of the seat and the added cushions ensure a most comfortable seating experience. In addition, the rounded edges give the chair and ottoman an attractive look.  This is a chair that would stand out while looking at home in pretty much any living room.

The Mad collection by Marcel Wanders is inspired by the simple and elegant silhouettes of a lot of the classical lounge chairs but at the same time looks and feels original. The latest addition to the series is this chic ottoman which perfectly matches the chair. You can mix and match chairs and ottomans with different types of upholstery or different colors to create interesting combinations.
