This house was designed as a getaway for a young family for the weekends, and thus, is located in a quiet neighborhood near Westlake, Hanoi, in Vietnam. It covers an entire area of approximately 60 square meters. Its design was undertaken by the architectural firm Global Architect & Associates in 2017.
In this design, the architects attempted to add a rustic feeling to the building, full of relaxing spaces and the use of friendly materials, as well as place an important focus on energy saving techniques, all the while keeping it maintained to the relatively small confines of the home.
The ground floor has various areas, dedicated for use as a garage, kitchen, dining room, and other spaces. The kitchen-dining room area has a high ceiling and is crossed by a hallway. There is also a small bookshelf nearby, which allows the interaction of the spaces and a constant connection between the inhabitants of the home.
The private bedroom and work spaces are all located on the upper floors, including one study, two bedrooms, and a garden.
The design uses simple energy saving techniques, such as the use of a large number of windows that allows the entrance of natural light into the house.
