This house was rebuilt to fulfill the needs of the owner that existed in the former guesthouse. The remodeling work was done by the ORA team – Jan Hora, Barbora Hora and Jan Veisser between the years 2015 to 2017. It is located in the town of Mikulov, in the Moravia region of the Czech Republic, directly on the border with Lower Austria.

Throughout its existence, the building has suffered a great many changes, and has gone through numerous reconstructions and operations. All of these have altered the house beyond recognition. Yet it has maintained its almost medieval picturesqueness.

The owners wished to preserve the home as an organic unit. It was very difficult to find a straight wall or a rectangular opening anywhere in the building, and so the architectural team had to reinvent and remake in order to make all the elements work, which is something that the owner happily agreed to.

Originally, the architectural team intended to only work on the interior. As work progressed, however, they realized that the interior and exterior needed to be worked on together, as the space and shapes came together to create an indivisible unit.

Each room is unique, each one has its own specific atmosphere.
