This farmhouse located in Hanoi, capital city of Vietnam, was redesigned and modernized by the Hanoi-based architectural firm Idee Architects to meet the needs of a large family. It is divided in two modules, the first of which holds the social areas – the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

The home was designed to host up to 20 family members, some of who live there permanently, while others come on weekends to spend time together as a family.

Metal bases were used for its construction, and its walls are made of glass, which allows the interior to merge with the exterior and, at the same time, allow natural light and ventilation to seep into the interior.

The home has large outdoor spaces with a large garden area to grow fresh produce.

The house is the center of the farm – it includes a pomelo garden, pig cages, and fish ponds. The house is the place where transactions of fresh farm-products take place.

From the house, customers can view all around the farm. The front yard and back yard are used to store farm products, as well as serve as a gathering place.

Its construction took only two months to be completed, and the use of glass instead of concrete significantly reduced the cost of the remodeling.
