This 150 year old building has been transformed into a wonderful contemporary home by the Slovenian architectural firm Styria Arhitektura. In an attempt to preserve as much of the old material as possible, and seeking to preserve the cultural heritage of the Slovene countryside, the firm focused mainly on the interior, which was quite deteriorated, and began the ambitious process by organizing the structural details such as wooden beams and oak nails to be repurposed in the finished design, now reborn as the Vrhe House.
The home is located in Vrhe, a settlement in the City Municipality of Celje, in Eastern Slovenia, and covers an area of 420 square meters. Its reconstruction was carried out in 2015.
It is surrounded by beautiful green areas that have been carefully designed, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, as well as with fantastic views to the spaces that surround it, ideal for spending time with family and friends.
Inside, the new house displays a modern and spacious living room. An architectural masterpiece, which connects the cultural landscape with the space, the building heritage with a modern living culture has significant potential, which is important because it contributes to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Slovene countryside.
