In 2017, MAIO Arquitects created this marvelous design which forms part of a project defined by a set of geometric elements that can be freely assembled and recombined. A set of simple geometric frames allows an infinity of possibilities and spatial reconfigurations as well as using different finishes, textures and colors. The system, consisting of 5 basic elements, allows to create reusable, self-supporting and simple-to-build structures.
It is located in Foro Buonaparte, in Milan, Italy, and covers a ground area of 1080 square meters where a series of spaces have been distributed.
The central space is surrounded by a group of rooms which are interconnected and which function as a showroom.
Each room has been designed as a space related to its specific content and style. The walls and ceiling of each room change to provide a unique character to each one.
Essentially, what we’ll find is a continuous space that contains the furniture. The basic elements are covered with a double-fabric finishing, which form a translucent box material that plays with shadows and transparency. The continuity of the box is only interrupted by openings, which are the result of the circular and triangular basic frames.
