The architectural studio Studio de Materia, in a project supervised by Adam Wysocki, designed two modules that adapt themselves perfectly to the terrain’s typography. This building is located on the edge of the Żurawiniec parkland in Poznań, Poland. Studio de Materia constructed the house in a letter T shape, with the living room, dining room, and kitchen in one wing, accompanied by a glass façade that allows its occupants to look upon the reserve.

The second wing, containing a small guest room as well as a library—or office, depending on the desires of the occupants—runs perpendicular to the first, flowing into the steep slope of the terrain. A wardrobe, bathroom, and bedroom are also located in this wing, building a terraced space that shields the house from prying eyes.

The wooden volume features closed façades, largely, and is the only thing visible from the upper portion of the project.

The functional layout of the home was dictated by the position of the sun throughout the day, as well as views and the neighborhood in general, according to Wysocki. The project includes a small patio next to the lounge, where the occupants are free to catch the morning sun.

A large south-facing terrace occupies the outdoor space between the living area and the master suite. A sliding door connects this lounge with the decked podium, which is raised above the garden.
