This stunningly unique office space is located in the QSW Culture Center in Shanghai, China, and was designed in 2016. Usual Studio + ten-arch, the architectural firm in charge, created this space while perfectly meeting their client’s needs – creating a low-budget space that was still innovative and that would inspire creativity and productivity.

The walls, made up of curtain-like strips of rope, turn into the ceiling in an almost sculptural manner, giving the space movement and a sense of dynamism that is instantly mesmerizing and inspiring. With an open office plan, the space also encourages and facilitates communication between employees, something particularly important for start-up companies. Glass lamps hang from the ceiling, each different and unique, and hanging at different heights, adding to this sense of movement.

A long table of rich, thick wood sits at the center of the room, filling the space and making it the center of attention. This serves to make clear what the purpose of this space is, which is to fulfill the needs of the client’s company.

A lounge area with chalkboard painted walls provide employees with a place to rest and take a break in. Plants dot the space, giving it a touch of color and vibrancy.
