No problem, minimalist home-goods brand Muji has recently released a prefab home that is really affordable and can be placed wherever you want it. Put it in the mountains, near the ocean, or in a garden, and it immediately blends in with the surroundings, inviting you to a whole new life.

Standing at just under 10 sqm, Muji’s compact shed holds an area spacious enough for up to four people to comfortably sit in, making it an ideal weekend getaway for the average city-dweller. Despite its tiny nature, the hut harbors plenty of light as a result of the large sliding door and the additional window facing it. Using the traditional art of Japanese shipbuilding, where cedar wood is burnt to increase its durability, the outer walls of the hut are given enhanced antiseptic properties by applying burned hardwood cladding. Similar to traditional homes, the hut uses a raft foundation which provides strength and protection against ground moisture.

Inside you’ll find a small room clad with cedar and with concrete floors. The space is decorated in a truly minimalist way: there’s a bed, a floor lamp, a hearth, firewood storage and a bench. What else will you need to merge with nature? Anyway, you can always add personalized touches to the outer and inner décor to make your vacation cabin comfier. To make the space cozier the designers used lots of natural warm-colored wood and a rug.

This is a perfect vacation home that can be moved where you want, it’s minimalist and won’t cost you a lot, so it will be a nice idea for this summer. Consider buying the cabin for a weekend in the country.
